If Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Asylum was right up your TV-viewing alley, then prepare to fall in love with Season 2 of Scream Queens. According to Variety, Fox executives officially confirmed the return of the blood-thrashing dramedy Friday afternoon at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., and revealed the new setting for the sophomore run: A hospital.
While details about the cast still remain under wraps, we do know that the hospital theme is set to give viewers a closer look at rare medical occurrences and the unusual scenarios surrounding them. Lea Michele, the killer behind all of Season 1’s deaths, told Variety the characters are expected to remain the same. “We would all go somewhere, and it’s explained why we’re going where we’re going. Hopefully Emma Roberts will be back for sure too," she said. Fox Co-Chairman and CEO also dished on the new season. "You'll meet people who have complex, sometimes bizarre cases. This is something Ryan Murphy loves and had a lot of fun with on Nip/Tuck. And he, Brad [Falchuk] and Ian [Brennan] are going to infuse that sensibility into the next chapter of this great anthology," he said.
So what else can we look forward to? The actress also hinted at a cameo by a major pop favorite late last year. “I also heard a rumor that [Ryan] may, I don’t know if this is true, but he said at a press thing recently that he is talking to a male pop star to come for next year,” Michele told InStyle in December. “If it’s Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I’m also thinking that he should be in the Wicked movie. He’s our modern day Mick Jagger.”
We’re keeping our ears open for more details.
