Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton took home the top prize at tonight’s British Fashion Awards in London—Designer of the Year! What an end to the McQueen protégé's whirlwind year, which included designing Kate Middleton’s wedding gown, opening a sell-out exhibition about her mentor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and seeing her work displayed at Buckingham Palace. Other winners at the ceremony included Stella McCartney for the Red Carpet Award, Victoria Beckham for Designer Brand of the Year and Alexa Chung for the public-voted British Style Award. Congratulations to all!
