All good things must come to an end, but thankfully friendships last forever--at least when it comes to The Hunger Games cast.
“This sort of franchise is a very [unique] experience,” explains Sam Claflin, who spoke to InStyle while promoting the saga’s latest installment, Mockingjay- Part 1 in New York City. “Having people around you that have shared it has been really quite special.”
While Claflin wasn’t featured in the first film, his character Finnick Odair has since become an integral part of the cast, especially in the more dramatic Mockingjay, where he was able to show off his serious acting chops alongside Jennifer Lawrence. However, even with the more dramatic scenes, the pair was able to have fun and bond.
“Genuinely trying to keep a straight face working with her is always very difficult,” he muses. “She’s a very happy, smiley person, but she is able to click it on and click it off, and for me it’s more difficult. But she’s incredible,” he continues. “I’m excited for what she does next and where she goes from here. So far, I don’t think that she’s made a wrong move. It’s awe-inspiring.”
Needless to say, he and J. Law created an everlasting bond, but what about the rest of the cast? "I know for a fact we will be in touch, whether they like it or not! I will be in touch. They won't be able to avoid me," Claflin says faux seriously before adding, "That sounds scary actually!"
Catch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 in theaters starting Friday, November 21.
