What was it like: There really wouldn't have been a more appropriate place for design duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez to showcase their fall/winter 2015 collection than the Whitney. Or, rather, the building that formerly housed the Whitney—the museum has recently relocated downtown. In any case, it served as the perfect venue, because each look was a work of art.
Why we love this collection: It was dramatic to the extreme, with body-hugging numbers and off-the-shoulder tops aggressively slashed to reveal sexy glimpses of skin and peeks of thick fishnets. Others were treated to finishings that ranged from fur accents to fringed outlines to all-over (painstakingly) embroidered sequins. And as with every collection, the heap of accessories (that included woven stacked mules and warrior-like cuffs) really hit the mark. It may be too avant-garde for mainstream, but this was every fashion person's dream.
