The key to mastering tried and true fashion staples is found in how you pair them, not necessarily in finding the best piece on the market. For Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a striped navy-and-white shirt that could have easily been borrowed from beau Jason Statham’s closet is best worn tucked-in, with jeans.

That’s precisely what the model did Friday in L.A., where she was photographed dressed in a look that has summer comfort written all over it. Huntington-Whitely proved that a chic ensemble's best friend is confidence by wearing a half-buttoned shirt with loosely cuffed sleeves and Southern California favorites perfect for a weekend outing. Her rolled-up jeans paired well with pointed toe heels and she kept a feminine edge with a frilly long necklace that dangled down her chest.

The rest of her accessories all fell into place, with oversize sunglasses and a black rectangular clutch giving the outfit a woke-up-like-this feel. Talk about having an innate sense of style.
