It was Rooney Mara's (in Calvin Klein) evening last night at the Cinema Society and Downtown Calvin Klein's screening of IFC Films' Ain't Them Bodies Saints at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The actress glowed as she chatted with reporters alongside Calvin Klein's Womenswear Creative Director Francisco Costa, Robin Wright and her co-star Ben Foster (in Calvin Klein). "I loved making the film," Mara told InStyle.com with a sweet smile. "I'm just excited for people to finally see it!" And the cast is excited for audiences to see her: co-star Keith Carradine told reporters repeatedly Mara was extraordinary, while director David Lowery admitted she was the only actress he sent the film's script to. Set in 1970s Texas, the flick tells the story of outlaw Bob Muldoon (Casey Affleck), who four years after taking the blame for his wife Ruthie Guthrie’s (Mara) crime, escapes from prison to reunite with her and their daughter, but along the way finds the path to them and the life he left is anything but easy. After the screening, the cast and guests shook off the film's heavy plot and made their way to Refinery Hotel rooftop where they celebrated their work over movie-themed Belvedere vodka cocktails and savory hors d'oeuvres that included sliders and Napoleon stacks. Catch Ain't Them Bodies Saints when it hits theaters Friday, August 16.
