Brace yourselves, Romeo and Juliet fans—the tale is about to be retold on the small screen. ABC has just ordered a pilot episode of Still Star-Crossed, a sequel to the iconic story about the tragic young lovers.

But the best part? Heather Mitchell, co-executive producer on Shonda Rhimes’s mega-hit Scandal, is heading and writing the series—Rhimes will also co-executive produce the project. Set in 16th century Verona after the events in William Shakespeare's tragedy, the show is based on the 2013 book by Melinda Taub of the same name and will follow the conflict between the Capulets and the Montagues in the wake of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.
