When Rihanna stepped onto the red carpet at the CFDA Awards Monday night in her jaw-dropping Adam Selman dress, it was easy to understand why she won the 2014 Fashion Icon Award. If a Jewelry Icon Award were given out, she would have won that too!
The singer always “shines bright like a diamond" at formal events by making classics look cool and turning up in totally unexpected designs. She transformed the traditional appearance of the Paul Morelli cat's-eye earrings she wore at the CFDA Awards by pairing them with her sheer fishnet and Swarovski crystal dress and matching headscarf. She put a fresh spin on Neil Lane vintage diamond rings at the 2013 Grammys with her Azzedine Alaia gown by putting them on several fingers. Rhi Rhi almost single handedly brought back the body chain when she flaunted the style at the Grammys in 2012 with a black Giorgio Armani jumpsuit.
Another major player is Lynn Ban (below, a silver white diamond handcuff bangle, grey diamond spider ring, and white diamond skill ring), who created looks for Rihanna’s 777 and Diamonds world tours. “She is my muse and always on my mind,” says Ban.
