It’s never about comfort for me," says Rita Ora with a playful grin. “I want my style to sting.” And when the songstress greets us with a hug in Soho’s Mercer Hotel to chat about her debut cosmetic collaboration for Rimmel, her intensely embellished Marni jacket does exactly that. Ora's gutsy and playful approach to style is something she was conscious of bringing to her first-ever collaboration.

Launching in the U.S. today, the six polishes are mix of bold names (like "Don't Be Shy") or bold jewel-toned shades that Ora selected herself. But to get "Rita Rouge,” a hue that mimics the siren red lip color she rarely hits the stage and street without, you'll have to hit up the singer's stomping grounds—it's only available in Britain.

For the 24-year-old, who is so often the muse (she walked Jeremy Scott's Moschino runway last fall), turning the tables to design the collection felt natural. Says Ora: “I always visualize music and the first thing I see is color—Rimmel just let me tap into that.” With an album anticipated to drop later this fall, it's likely things are only going to get brighter.
