It's safe to say René-Charles Angelil had an unforgettable time at the Billboard Music Awards.
After bringing his mom, Celine Dion, to tears when he presented her with the Icon Award Sunday night, the 15-year-old hockey player couldn't help but snag a photo opp with another superstar performer in the room.
"What a night! #billboards2016," Angelil captioned the only photo he posted from the show so far, which showed him cozying up to Rihanna backstage while wearing a black and white bomber jacket, black and white graphic T-shirt, and a wide smile. Rihanna was glowing in the snap and smiling as well, rocking a sheer, printed maxi dress.
Although Dion didn't appear in Angelil's Billboard photo, it was a particularly touching night for them both. Following the passing of their respective husband and father, René Angelil, earlier this year, the "My Heart Will Go On" singer was visibly moved when René-Charles walked out on stage to give her her trophy.
"I want to be so strong for my family and my kids, and I didn't expect that," Dion said after her son joined her on stage "You make me so happy. Thank you!" She went on to thank her late husband, adding she knows he "will continue to watch over me from up above."
What a night indeed.
