Rihanna is doing things her own way. After all, “Consideration,” the opening track to her just-released eighth studio album, Anti, finds the Barbadian singer declaring her independence. “I got to do things my own way darling, will you ever let me? Will you ever respect me?” she sings on the soothing tune.
So it’s fitting that after dropping her first single, “Work,” the 28-year-old music and fashion mogul chose to strip down and elegantly bare it all in the music video for her second soon-to-be smash, “Kiss It Better.” Directed by legendary fashion photographer Craig McDean, the video begins to roll with saucy footage of the star rolling dice about her body as she wears nothing but dainty pieces of lingerie and one satin-like sheet that’s giving us serious FKA Twigs vibes.
As it progresses, she changes into late night-appropriate silk slips and an oversize, menswear-inspired pinstripe blazer with matching denim cutoffs. Her skin glows and the minimal use of accessories (a dangling body chain is the star) is also reflective of her “Diamonds” and “Four Five Seconds” music videos. Her devil-may-care attitude is evident as she also bares her chest in a series of up-close shots.
