We all know that after coming home from a long, busy day we might not be up to our lengthy step-by-step makeup removal routine—but we also know that sleeping with our makeup on is an absolute no-no. So what’s a girl to do? I opted to test out a time saver called The Makeup Eraser ($20;, a chemical-free cloth that claims to be an all-natural method of removing 100-percent of makeup with just the cloth and a splash of warm water. A product that can remove waterproof mascara in seconds and lasts for up to 1,000 washes sounds like magic, right? I decided to see if lived up to its hype by giving it a try with my full-coverage makeup still perfectly intact: liquid foundation, concealer, waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, blush, translucent powder, and a fiery red lip. Needless to say, its powers were put to the ultimate test.

First, I followed the instructions and machine-washed the cloth before first-time use. Next, I poured warm water on the shorter napped side of the cloth for about 30 seconds. Then I gently rubbed the cloth in circular motions on my skin. It didn’t feel anything like a normal washcloth. The soft, plush material was soothing and ... my makeup came right off! I turned the cloth over to the thicker side that also removes makeup but has an exfoliating feel. I was amazed that no harsh scrubbing was involved.

In under a minute, my entire face was completely bare and my skin felt smooth and exfoliated. To triple-check, I even dabbed some of my go-to cleanser on my face with makeup-removing pads to see if any debris would be left. None was. Not even a trace of my mascara. Voilà, magic!
