With $350, you could buy eight cans of Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, seventeen Beautyblenders, fifty-eight tubes of Maybelline Great Lash, or … one hair dryer. But—as we found out firsthand—T3’s new PROi Professional Hair Dryer ($350; sephora.com) isn’t just your average hair tool.

To start, it’s just about the quietest dryer we’ve ever tried, thanks to a brushless motor that also keeps vibration at a minimum. We have the powerful motor to thank for the super-quick dry time, too—our hair went from damp to dry in a matter of minutes. With three heat and two speed settings—we opted for low on both counts—we didn’t worry that we were frying our baby-fine strands, either.

But the true test, of course, was how our hair looked post-blow dry. The verdict? Our hair was so soft and smooth, we caught ourselves petting it throughout the day. The frizz-free result is the product of the dryer’s heat-balanced, ion-charged generator and powerful cool shot button, which we activated at the end of our blowout to lock in the style.

So, is it worth the splurge? For blow out addicts, we say yes: For about the same price as eight appointments with a pro, you’ve got yourself a tool that imparts the same fresh-from-the-salon feeling.
