Reese Witherspoon will star in an upcoming biopic of legendary musician and actress Peggy Lee. Lee is considered one of the most influential jazz vocalists of all time—she is famous for her cover version of Little Willie John's "Fever"—and Witherspoon secured the rights to her story after meeting with Lee's granddaughter, Holly Foster-Wells. Witherspoon has already won an Oscar for her role in a music biopic—she played June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, and this film, which will be written and directed by Nora Ephron, is set to be in the same vein: a personal and professional account of Lee's life.
