"Summer is here and it's getting very hot in Los Angeles. We decided to take off 4 inches, giving Reese a shorter, lighter look with much more movement," Witherspoon's hairstylist Cervando Maldonado tells InStyle. "We removed a lot of the weight without compromising the length—this look can still be pulled up into a ponytail or up into a bun."

Reese Witherspoon's #SummerHair is in full force! Yesterday, the star hit up her mane man Cervando Maldonado, who chopped a few inches off of her layers, resulting in a textured, below-the-shoulder style. Though the look would still be considered long to some, it's pretty dramatic, considering that her strands used to cascade past the center of her back. "Summer is here and it's getting very hot in Los Angeles. We decided to take off 4 inches, giving Reese a shorter, lighter look with much more movement," Maldonado tells InStyle. "We removed a lot of the weight without compromising the length—this look can still be pulled up into a ponytail or up into a bun." For those of us who consider long hair as our security blanket, it's an inspirational baby-step into the long bob territory. Thanks to the texture, the cut is also pretty low-maintenance as it works both styled and air-dried. Check out her new 'do below, and see more celebrity hair makeovers in our gallery.
