It's hard to imagine a time before Reese Witherspoon's many iconic films lined the shelves of our DVD cabinets, so it's only appropriate that the star was honored at the American Cinematheque Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend for her impressive career, which spans almost 25 years. To accept the award, Witherspoon complemented her off-the-shoulder Dolce & Gabbana gown with a sleek, shiny blowout. "We discussed the look together and decided that we wanted the style to be sexy and chic," her hairstylist Lona Vigi tells us. "It was parted to the side and polished to complete her classy, sophisticated look."

Vigi began with damp, towel-dried hair, and applied a dollop of Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Mousse ($10; drugstore.com) to set a solid foundation, then worked in sections to blow her layers out straight. Once the star's hair had been completely dried, she sectioned her strands into a deep side-part. When recreating the look on yourself, line your part up with the highest point of your brow if you're unsure of placement. Vigi used a small amount of the Nexxus Oil Infinite ($20; drugstore.com) through her mid-lengths and ends to amp up shine and smooth over any flyaways, and finished with a light veil of the brand's Frizz Defy Finishing Mist ($12; drugstore.com). Fuss-free and effortless, but still completely striking—not unlike the star herself.
