I love buying vintage—especially from the '60s—but I'm always self-conscious about appearing too retro. "You Can Do: Mod" in the October issue showed me how integrating small mod touches, like a pair of oversized round sunglasses or patent leather loafers, into your wardrobe can help you pull off the trend without looking like you're channeling Twiggy. By tucking a polka dot top into a mustard yellow midi skirt and finishing with a leather bootie, I was able to comfortably fuse classic with contemporary.
