Last night in Los Angeles, Rachel Bilson was honored as a “Champion” for her empowering advocacy and support of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. The 34-year-old former star of The O.C. may be especially philanthropic, but it was giving birth to her daughter, Briar Rose, last October that made her realize how many children are plagued with hunger. “I’m a mom now so I feel like I’m a mother to all,” she told InStyle.

The actress radiated in a floral Jonathan Saunders dress with deep red suede Paul Andrew shoes and explained why she chose the ensemble for the celebration. “It’s important these days to wear dresses where I can wear a bra. That was a key factor. I just thought it was beautiful. The colors—I just felt comfortable in it.” And while the look was stunning, Bilson proceeded to explain how motherhood has stripped her style down to the essentials.

“I wear the same pair of jeans every single day. And T-shirts. Be prepared to have puke,” she quipped. “It completely changes everything. I mean, who you are as a person, how you think, every move you make, you’re like, ‘I am molding a person.’ It’s like this whole different thing.”
