Christmas vacation has officially begun for the royal family. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were spotted arriving at King’s Lynn station on Dec. 21 to begin their Christmas break at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England.
The royals boarded the public train at London’s King’s Cross Station on Thursday and settled in for the journey to their country home. The queen looked cheery in a bright purple coat paired with a vibrant pink and purple patterned headscarf. As per usual, she accessorized with a black top-handle bag and low-heeled loafers. Her husband was right behind her, looking polished in a dark suit and tie.
Queen Elizabeth has long spent Christmas at Sandringham, her private country estate around 110 miles north of London. This year, the monarch is breaking royal tradition by allowing Prince Harry’s fiancée, Meghan Markle, to join them for the holiday.
According to People, we can expect to see the engaged duo out and about on Christmas morning as they head to church services with the family.
We’ll be looking out for more photos of the royal family as they begin their holiday festivities.
