Congratulations are in order for Pippa Middleton and her longtime beau, financier James Matthews—to duo is engaged to be married. The 32-year-old beauty showed off a dazzling new ring on her left hand during an outing in London on Tuesday, and the pair also confirmed the happy news.
"Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday, July 17 and plan to marry next year," the newly-engaged couple said in a statement.
The romantic proposal reportedly took place while the pair were on vacation in the gorgeous Lake District of northwest England—the 40-year-old businessman even asked her father for permission before getting down on one knee to pop the big question.
"They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together," her dad Michael Middleton said in a statement Tuesday.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news."
Middleton and Matthews first dated back in 2012 before calling it quits and later reunited in 2015 to rekindle their relationship. The duo was most recently seen together earlier this month as they took in some tennis at Wimbledon, and just yesterday, the royal-in-law stepped out for the Frost Summer Party Fundraiser where she notably kept her left hand hidden from photographers for the entire event.
