Penélope Cruz threw the concept of staying in on a weeknight out the window Tuesday evening, when the 42-year-old actress stepped out for a New York City screening of her buzzy new film, Ma Ma. Inside downtown Manhattan’s Sunshine Cinema, the brunette posed for the cameras and flashed her dazzling smile as she made her way into the theater for the Cinema Society- and Chopard-hosted event.
Cruz donned a winning Michael Kors Collection dress that solidified her position as a fashion chameleon. On Monday she gleamed in a ladylike white Oscar de la Renta frock for an appearance on Good Morning America, but for her outing the following day, the actress took the opposite approach to the color spectrum in a black sequin- and feather-adorned long-sleeve dress. She paired the piece—which also featured mesh detailing at the bust and arms, a plunging deep-V neckline, and a wide, bow-like belt element—with open-toe black pumps and subtle earrings.
As for how she made sure to get the most out of her A+ look: Cruz headed to an after-party at Café Medi, where guests sipped Qui tequila cocktails and marveled at the movie star.
