With the impending loom of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the entire country is collectively gearing up for a multi-day shopping spree. But one designer is shifting her focus from the act of "getting" to "giving." Jewelry designer Pamela Love, who's made a name for herself for her fearlessly cool, boundary-pushing pieces (she designed the ear jacket before it ever became a thing—"we've done them since 2008, but we just called it a "two-part earring," she says incredulously), has partnered with eBay to launch a limited edition jewelry collection to benefit CFDA's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.
"I jumped at the opportunity to get and give at the same time," Love says. "eBay wanted to remind people to 'dream and wish bigger,' so there's a whimsical element and magical feel to the collection. We used the feather, which is iconic to my brand DNA, because it's soft, feminine, and it signifies independence and freedom."
Each piece is coated in rose gold as a nod to pink for breast cancer. "Most of us has been affected by cancer, and it's something I've experienced first-hand, with the people closest to me," she continues. "I wanted to participate in any way I could, to give back to a cancer charity."
When designing, she approached the collection with the goal to create simple staples that could not only be worn every day, but that could lend themselves to layering and stacking for a statement-making effect. The whimsical do-good pieces, which all ring in under $75, will be available on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1 starting at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET at ebay.com/pamelalove.
