On this week's Scandal, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) found herself doing what she does best: taking over and running a campaign, this time for Senate hopeful Susan Ross. But instead of doing it for political reasons, she wanted to help Abby (Darby Stanchfield), whose ex-husband, Charles Putney, was running for the same office.

"We decided to have her in a white jacket when she tells Abby that she's going to handle the situation with Charles," costume designer Lyn Paolo, told InStyle about Pope's white Prada coat. "We thought it would be amazing because the white hat's back on and she's going to protect Abby."

Abby's look in this episode was striking as well. The gray tweed Paul Smith dress and jacket combo, which Paolo found in London, is part of Abby's evolving wardrobe now that she's working inside the White House. "This is her new look, her Press Secretary look," Paolo said. "It will get more defined as time goes by and she's stronger in the role."
