Olivia Holt may have cut her teeth on the Disney Channel, but just like the teen phenoms before her, she's ready to break into the music biz. "It's been a long time coming," she recently told InStyle. The 18-year-old singer marks her debut into the pop genre today with "Phoenix," an empowerment anthem chock full of uplifting and inspirational lyrics and one very infectious chorus.

"It's one of those songs I can listen to when I need a pick-me-up," Holt says of the new single. "No matter what struggles I'm facing, I always try to keep my chin up. I don't want to dwell on things—I want to push them to the side and prove that they're not going to stop me from doing whatever I want to do. I try to surround myself with people that motivate me, so I encourage others to do the same."

And along with her squad, Holt can look to former Disney stars like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus who blazed the trail before her. "Watching them on their journey is really inspiring," she says. "Their transition has been unreal. I'm going down my own path, but hopefully we'll run into each other one day and discuss how bananas everything is."

Listen to "Phoenix" below, and catch Holt live during her just-announced fall tour with Ryland. Scroll down for the full list of dates.
