Noah Cyrus is definitely positioned to be the next musical superstar to come from the Cyrus family: Katy Perry just named the 17-year-old songstress as the opening act for the first leg of her Witness tour.
It sounds as though Cyrus could not be more excited.
"I've loved Katy since I was a little girl and I can't thank her enough for giving me this incredible opportunity," Cyrus said in a statement, according to Refinery 29.
Cyrus posted the news to Instagram. "Can I get a witness?! Yoooo this is actually happening ... I'm opening for @katyperry on #WITNESSTHETOUR!! Thank you to KP for this insane opportunity," she wrote in the caption. "Still can't believe it."
Many had assumed the "Stay Together" singer would join her big sister Miley on tour, but it's clear she wants to put any comparisons to her older sibling to rest.
"[Miley and I are] completely different, just two artists," Cyrus previously told Refinery. "There are so many other female artists that don't get compared the way I do with Miley. But we're both each other's biggest fans—I'm rooting for her, and she's rooting for me, and we love each other, but I don't think we'll ever fully understand why us being sisters makes it okay to compare all the time."
