For most '90s kids, the question "What's your favorite scary movie?" conjures up images of a masked serial killer wreaking havoc on a slew of unsuspecting teens. Nina Dobrev is no exception. We recently bumped into the former Vampires Diaries star at StyleWatch and Revolve's party on the High Line, and, in honor of her new horror-comedy, The Final Girls (out today), asked her the highly fraught question—and her answer was so fitting. "I'd have to say Scream, Teaching Mrs. Tingle or I Know What You Did Last Summer," she told InStyle.
For the uninitiated, Kevin Williamson, the creator of The Vampire Diaries, in which Dobrev starred for six seasons, wrote the screenplays for each of the aforementioned titles. But don't expect a similar storyline in her upcoming film, which follows a group of high schoolers who become trapped in an '80s-era slasher film called Camp Bloodbath. "We're making fun of those kinds of movies," she adds. "It's a very cool and original concept, which doesn't happen that often these days. I'm excited to be a part of something unique."
Watch the trailer for The Final Girls below, and make sure to catch the movie in theaters this weekend.
