J.K. Rowling started an Internet frenzy when she announced that there will be a new Harry Potter story coming to the stage in London, but for fans who weren’t able to get tickets (or travel across the pond), you’ll still get a chance to revisit the wizarding world.
Publishing company Little, Brown announced it will publish the script on July 31 following the opening of the play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, in London. Scholastic will publish the book in the U.S. and Canada at 12:01 a.m. on the same day, according to the company. This date is significant, as it's Harry's birthday. Rowling retweeted the exciting news.
The story will resume 19 years later when Harry Potter is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic and father of three. His youngest son, Albus, is struggling with his family’s legacy (sound familiar?).
While it’s hard for us to picture Potter in an office job, we can’t wait to jump back in to the magical world. Let’s just hope Rupert Grint’s sad prediction about Ron’s relationship with Hermione doesn’t come true!
