We're longtime fans of Ne-Yo's cool style and impressive collection of hats and accessories. The dapper star even gave us a peek at his massive archive of caps and fedoras when we shot him for InStyle's February Man of Style feature. But when it comes to dressing his kids (the singer is dad to daughter Madilyn Grace and son Mason Evan, and is expecting his third little one this year) he takes a more conservative approach. "I don't believe in buying expensive kids' clothes because they're going to wear it one time and then grow out of it," he told us. "Then you just spent $5000 on something that they are probably going to poop on. Nope, not my thing."

But Ne-Yo says that although he may not be investing in designer duds for his mini crew, he does give them the freedom to develop their own style. "They'll let me get them clothes, but they don't let me put their outfits together, and that's okay," he explains. "Especially my daugher Maddie, who is five." We can't wait to see if the tots take after their dad on the fashion front.
