Naomi Watts does not shy away from striking designs on the red carpet. The Birdman actress, who is no awards season rookie, has narrowed down her Oscar gown search to two dresses, and whichever one she chooses she knows it will make a statement.
"This time I just chose my designer, and we're choosing between two dresses," Watts told InStyle at Bulgari's Save the Children pre-Oscar party on Tuesday night. "Both are sort of strong statement pieces, again." Watts, who wore an eye-catching yellow Gucci gown to the Golden Globes, says that although she's getting older, she's not going to start wearing more subdued designs anytime soon. "You think that it would go the other way. Tone it down as you get older. I'm like—while I still can, why not go for some boldness?"
At last night's event, where Watts, a Bulgari ambassador, was a speaker, the actress wore a strapless white Antonio Berardi dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a stunning Bulgari necklace (top). Another piece by the famed jewelry brand that has been making the red carpet rounds with Watts is her ever-present Serpenti necklace, which she last wore to the Globes. "I don't mind repeating pieces that you love. Who cares that, oh, she's worn it before. We try to change it in a way I wear it," the Bulgari ambassador, who spoke at the event, explained. "I can wear it in the back. I can wear it to the side, to the front. Obviously, the dress always looks different. I've always loved Bulgari pieces. They are always strong statement pieces."
