Britney Spears made her triumphant return to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and it was everything we dreamed it would be.

Following a nine-year absence from performing at the VMAs, Spears made her debut in a yellow sequined bodysuit and bright yellow boots (have we mentioned she is looking hot, hot, hot lately?) while bringing down the house in a live performance of “Make Me…,” a single off of her new album, Glory. And it was nothing shot of glorious. A few minutes later, the surprises continued as G-Eazy joined Spears on stage, transitioning into a steamy rendition of “Me, Myself & I.”

The pop princess took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2011 (this year's honoree is Rihanna) and last took the VMAs stage for a performance in 2007.

Britney's clearly back, bitches. But then again, did she ever really leave?
