Congratulations, Corinne Foxx! The 21-year-old actress and daughter of Golden Globe winner Jamie Foxx was presented with the Miss Golden Globe 2016 title tonight inside InStyle and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s star-studded party at Ysabel West Hollywood. “Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,” Foxx said. “I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been awarded for some of his greatest accomplishments.”
So what exactly does the title mean? Each year, HFPA bestows the honor of Miss (or Mr.) Golden Globe to a burgeoning actor or actress who’s also the child of a bonafide Hollywood star or accomplished director or producer. Foxx now follows in the footsteps of former Miss Golden Globe talents like Rumer Willis, Francesca Eastwood, Melanie Griffith, and Miss Golden Globe 2015, Greer Grammer. As the newest Miss Golden Globe, Foxx will be on stage during the 73rd annual awards show presenting the gilded trophy to lucky honorees.
“We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition and have her as our 2016 Miss Golden Globe,” Lorenza Soria, HFPA President, said inside the megawatt celebration. “Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”
A senior at the University of Southern California, Foxx has not only proven to be an intelligent leader in her community, but also has Hollywood in her blood. The actress and model has been stepping onto the red carpet with her dad from an early age, and most recently posed for a Ralph Lauren campaign.
