Mark Wahlberg may be a cool dad, but he's still not above embarrassing his kids.
The actor proved this fact during a live radio interview on The Dan Patrick Show Wednesday when he mortified his 13-year daughter, Ella Rae, with a bit of off-the-cuff rapping.
It all started innocently enough when Ella was given a mic and prompted her father—who was promoting his new movie, Deepwater Horizon—that she wanted to hear him rap, "right now."
What she wasn't expecting was for his lyrics to be directed at her.
"I'm your 45-year-old father and I got to rap / And if you keep misbehaving I'm a give your behind a slap," he freestyled while his daughter watched in horror and the crew clapped. "It's called a spanking / Later on in life you're gonna thank me / 'Cause all the advice that I'm giving you is good for you / And if not, your butt and behind is gonna be black and blue."
Ella furiously motioned for her dad to "cut" but Marky Mark pressed on.
"Don't cut it down," Wahlberg said. "We're giving you positive-encouragement raps. It's good information to help you behave, and then you're going to earn that phone back, girl."
Ella countered, complaining that he's unfair and that he never would take electronics away from her brothers (Michael, 10, Brendan, 8).
"If I took their iPads they wouldn't care," Wahlberg explained. "They'd just go throw a ball or bounce their head off the wall and they'd still be happy. You live for the phone, so I got to get you where it counts, kid."
