Marilyn Monroe—who would have celebrated her 85th birthday today, June 1st—caused quite a splash when she stepped over a subway grate wearing a white halter dress in The Seven Year Itch. Now the iconic outfit is going up for auction! Actress Debbie Reynolds has been collecting Hollywood memorabilia for over 40 years, and on June 18th she'll be selling Monroe's dress, along with 3,500 other silver screen treasures, like Judy Garland's ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz and Charlie Chaplin's bowler hat. The pleated frock, which features intricate boning and a built-in bra, is expected to fetch $2 million! Profiles in History will host the auction, and you can see a bit of Hollywood history in person at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, where Reynolds' entire collection will be on view this month.
