Mariah Carey is headed to a TV set near you! The 45-year-old songstress is set to join the E! family as the star of a new television series called Mariah's World. According to The New York Times, Carey will be the focus of the network's eight-part documentary series which follows her as she goes on tour in Europe and South Africa and plans her lavish wedding to fiancé, Australian billionaire James Packer.
"I refuse to call it a reality show," Carey told the Times. The series will be a more intimate glimpse at her daily life. "I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am," she explained in the interview. "A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that."
The Grammy-winner is in good hands—Mariah's World is reportedly being produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, the same group behind Keeping Up with the Kardashians, I Am Cait, and The Real World.
Mariah's World is expected to debut on E! later this year.
