Is that you Maggie Gyllenhaal?
The 37-year-old actress was nearly unrecognizable on the set of '70s drama The Deuce, where she donned a curly blonde wig to go along with her tight mini skirt and halter-neck top Wednesday night.
The new look is part of her role as Time Square prostitute Eileen "Candy" Merrell in the upcoming HBO pilot, which follows the rise of the porn industry in New York City.
The series is partially inspired by two real-life twin brothers who were players in the N.Y.C. sex industry and had ties to mob activity. James Franco, who is co-producing along with Gyllenhaal, will star as both brothers, according to Variety.
David Simon, who famously wrote The Wire, is writing and executive producing and Breaking Bad's Michelle MacLaren is signed on to direct.
"Porn, prostitution, pimps, the mob, after-hours nightlife, institutional corruption and New York in its Wild West heyday—it's a world rich in character, and a fascinating story we're eager to tell," George Pelecanos, who co-wrote with Simon, told Variety.
The Deuce also stars Our Brand Is Crisis actress Zoe Kazan, rapper Method Man, and The Wire's Lawrence Gilliard Jr.
