The devil-may-care attitude behind much of the fashion we loved in the ‘90s has resurfaced on stars like Kendall Jenner and, most prominently, Anti crooner Rihanna. Now, Madewell has taken note of the trend with a new, 18-piece capsule collection with Daryl Kerrigan’s of-the-decade New York-based brand Daryl K. A favorite of It girls and music darlings like Kim Gordon (who stars in the campaign alongside her daughter, Coco Gordon Moore, below), the denim-centered, easy-to-live-in collection is just that, with comfortable separates like a baggy gray sweatshirt and loose-fitting graphic tees.
“There may be no designer who better encompasses the downtown fashion and music scene that was thriving in New York City in the ‘90s than Daryl,” Joyce Lee, head of design at Madewell, said in a statement. Across the portfolio of images for the project, model Erin Wasson lends her free-spirited aesthetic to the camera, which captures the model in ‘70s-inspired denim-on-denim staples and minimal accessories.
