Cannes, France, has quickly turned into a flurry of screenings and glitzy gatherings. The Calvin Klein Collection party celebrating Women in Film brought out some of Hollywood's top leading ladies, including Lupita Nyong'o, Naomi Watts, and Julianne Moore. "There’s so much elegance and otherworldliness on that red carpet at the Grand Palais," Watts told reporters at the event. It’s a magnificent place to celebrate film and glamour and of course the directors get a lot attention [here], which is fantastic."
The fete on Thursday night marked Nyong'o's Cannes Film Festival debut, where she stunned in a shimmery deep blue Calvin Klein dress. The Oscar winner also opened up about what motivates her in life. "So many people inspire me," Nyong'o said. I’m inspired by [model and designer] Alek Wek, who has been a major influence in my life. My father. I’m inspired by my team. The team of people who help me get through the day."
Audience members were treated to a performance by British singer Jessie Ware. The star-studded event served as a wonderful opportunity for the actresses to recognize each other. "It’s always nice to gather and celebrate film and women in particular," Moore said. "I love to go the movies and I love to see women. I love to see actresses."
