When uber-hot site Forward Forward and brick-and-mortar store Elyse Walker first joined forces three years ago to launch Forward by Elyse Walker, the fashion world knew that their online shopping world had just been turned upside down. Fast forward to today, and the site is now refocusing their efforts on a much more streamlined shopping experience with their relaunch of Forward by Elyse Walker.
Elyse, whose background is in retail (she is the owner of the eponymous style haven Elyse Walker in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles), explained exclusively to InStyle.com, "I'm used to having a one-on-one experience with each and every customer in the dressing room. I really wanted to bring that experience to the online consumer with Forward by Elyse Walker." Elyse and her Forward team manage to curate from only the best of the best (it's one of the very few sites that carry Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen online), and with a limited number of brands (and a limited number of items from each of those brands. It all makes for highly though-out selection of incredible trend pieces, hot accessories and fashion favorites.
But, even with a curated offering of Isabel Marant, Valentino, and Alexander Wang, we still found it tough to pick our favorites. So we turned to Elyse herself to choose her top five items to covet this spring.
1. Proenza Schouler Foil Print Poly Pleated Dress, $2,950
"This looks amazing on the body," Elyse says.
2. Chloé Metallic Herringbone Tank Dress, $4,895
"I would love to wear this dress on my dream vacation to the South of France. I'd even throw it on over a bikini."
3. Valentino Bambolina Polyamide Skirt Dress, $6,690
"This dress needs to be framed—it's such a work of art."
4. Elyse Walker Los Angeles Suede Fringe Booties, $595
"Fringe is a must-have, not only for the spring and summer, but for the next season as well." (When we met with Elyse, these are the shoes she was donning herself!)
5. Saint Laurent Small Monogramme Chain Bag, $1,290
"I'm obsessed with anything white and anything Saint Laurent, and this is all of the above! We can't seem to keep these bags in the store, they're so hot."
