There's a first time for everything, and last night Lorde made her movie premiere debut by walking the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square in London. And this wasn't just for any film—it was the world premiere of one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.
The "Royals" singer, who just turned 18 last week, sounded excited about the occasion. Prior to the event she tweeted:
going to my first movie premiere tonight for mockingjay ◕‿◕ ◡‿◡— Lorde (@lordemusic) November 10, 2014
it just occurred to me that i never do red carpets but i am doing it tonight, hopefully i remember how to move my face/walk— Lorde (@lordemusic) November 10, 2014
Those fears were obviously unfounded as she looked absolutely adorable in a tuxedo-inspired ensemble with billowy wide-leg pants, a crisp white shirt, and pointed-toe shoes. A black ribbon tied into a feminine bow at the collar and her signature dark lip finished off her look.
Plus, it appears Lorde had a solid support system in place: She found great company in red-carpet veterans such as Natalie Dormer, Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, and Julianne Moore (below, from left):
Lorde curated the soundtrack for Mockingjay – Part 1, and recently released the music video for "Yellow Flicker Beat," one of the featured tunes. The full album will be released Nov. 17, in advance of when the movie opens on Nov. 21.
