Rachel Bloom's performance of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" on Lip Sync Battle is awkward in all the right ways. Spike teased the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star's upcoming appearance on the show with a brief look at her flawless re-imagining of Perry's hit single—complete with acne and uncomfortable dance moves.

In the clip (below), Bloom—who snagged a Golden Globe for her work on her musical comedy, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, in January—channels her inner band geek and marches across the stage while playing an invisible flute. Her troop of fellow bandmates (er, backup dancers) follow behind her playing fake trombones, drums, and cymbals before ditching them to mirror her hilariously high-school dance moves. Meanwhile, her competitor, actor Michael Shannon, looks understandably nervous about taking on the multi-talented actress.

Watch the clip above and tune into Spike on Thursday, June 16, at 10 p.m. ET to see the rest of the battle.
