As the daughter of Johnny Depp and French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp inherited the genetic advantage of sweeping cheekbones and a gorgeous pout from both parents. Now she is out to prove she's inherited the family acting talent as well and has landed a major movie role.
The 16-year-old Lily-Rose has been cast to play Isadora Duncan, the famous free spirit widely regarded as the founder of modern dance, in The Dancer, according to Variety. The film tells the story of Duncan's relationship with her mentor Loie Fuller, another American pioneer of modern dance who became the toast of turn-of-the-century Paris.
Lily-Rose, who grew up in Paris and speaks French fluently, is also set to appear in next year's Planetarium as one half of a pair of spritualist sisters in 1930s Paris with Natalie Portman. And in a complete change of pace, she will also soon be seen as a small-town Canadian teen in Kevin Smith's forthcoming horror-comedy Yoga Hosers. The movie is a real family affair; not only does it star Lily-Rose's father, Johnny (who tied the knot with Amber Heard earlier this year), and Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith, a friend since kindergarten, but mom Vanessa also makes an appearance.
