When she's not scarfing down mac 'n cheese on the set of Orange Is the New Black, Laura Prepon is a bit of a health nut. In fact, the actress, who stars as the gorgeous tattooed inmate Alex Vause in the hit Netflix series, recently released a new cookbook called The Stash Plan ($16; amazon.com), which outlines a 21-day plan for shedding weight and getting energized using culinary practices inspired by Eastern holistic medicine and food science.

Now, Prepon is rallying behind another nutritional tome. She recently took to Instagram to endorse Eat Dirt ($18; amazon.com), a new guide to leaky gut syndrome by wellness guru Dr. Josh Axe. For the uninitiated, the condition has been scientifically proven to cause ailments ranging from chronic inflammation to diabetes. In the book, Axe urges that we get a little "dirty" in order to establish a healthy balance of good bacteria.

"Current reading obsession: Eat Dirt by @drjoshaxe," she wrote in the caption. "Fascinating explanations of what we are dealing with as a society in terms of auto immune problems, digestive issues, and more. As you guys know, I grew up in a family of Western medicine and I feel there is definitely a place for it. However, information on auto immune (which I couldn't get from Western medicine) in connection with so many ailments people are currently facing, is priceless." We're sold.
