Unlike some of her contemporaries (yes, we're looking at you, Justin Bieber), Kylie Jenner has reached 18 while managing to resist covering her body in ink, so far limiting herself to just one tiny red heart on her upper left arm that dates back to August.
But now her Instagram account has revealed a picture of her second tattoo, this one on her right hip. Like the heart, it is understated and red. The design is not an image, but typography which reads \ˈsa-nə-tē\.
Ancient Sumerian? Icelandic? A look at the dictionary reveals it's the phonetic spelling of "sanity". Given the whirlwind of life in the Kardashian-Jenner household, it's not surprising the model went for a reminder to stay grounded
As well as the new Instagram image, which she captioned "All red," Jenner also posted a SnapChat video in November of tattoo artist Keith McCurdy, who goes by the nom de (electric) plume BangBang and whose clients include Rihanna and Cara Delevigne, creating the body art at his studio in New York, although the finished product remained obscure.
BangBang himself posted a photo of himself with Jenner captioned "My newest victim @kyliejenner", along with a video of Jenner, giggling nervously as she etches a red crown plus a "K" onto his heavily-decorated leg. It's unlikely she'll need to, but, just in case, it appears Jenner now has another useful skill to fall back on.
