As we near the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones on Sunday, the theories are getting wilder and wilder, but one that keeps popping up is of a future romantic relationship between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
Before Dany left for Westeros, she hinted that she may be looking to make alliances through marriage to defeat the Lannisters and make her way to the Iron Throne. Jon is an eligible bachelor, the newly crowned King in the North, and certainly has enough beef with the Lannisters for the both of them. The theories are even more scandalous because, if Jon is actually a Targaryen (the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen), that would make him Daenerys’s nephew. Yuck.
But according to Harington, we don’t have to worry about those rumors one bit. “Ygritte is the only woman for Jon. Always. There will be no one else,” he told Us Weekly in a new interview.
“Out of all the people in Thrones, Jon, of all people, is probably the least up for incest. But we don’t know whether they’re related,” he noted to Entertainment Tonight at Wednesday night’s premiere.

We’ll take this information with a grain of salt, though, since Harington also openly admitted that he lies in interviews to throw off fans—and the show even filmed fake scenes this season when the paparazzi were nearby.
But as for his real-life relationship with Rose Leslie, the actress who played Ygritte, Harington couldn’t stop gushing. “I think that’s the really special thing about it is that we met on this show and here we are seven years down the line back here promoting season seven,” he told ET. “I mean it’s mad. It’s such a special thing. I’m so privileged.”
Game of Thrones returns for Season 7 on July 16 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
