And it's not just the work of a well-placed Rise filter, either. Even in the real world, Khloe Kardashian's complexion always appears to have been touched by some Instagram blurring magic, and this week on her app and website, the star revealed the secret behind the effect, which she picked up from her makeup artist Joyce Bonelli. "Joyce, my go-to beauty guru, has the BEST trick for extra-full coverage foundation," she wrote. "Swap your regular moisturizer for a tinted version, then apply foundation. The result is perfectly even skin."
In lieu of your traditional moisturizer, Khloe recommends starting with a layer of Laura Mercier's tinted option ($44; nordstrom.com), then add your favorite full-coverage foundation over the top. "Create your base with a foundation that matches your skin color," she continued. "Pat it all down with a BeautyBlender ($20; sephora.com)." For the look she showcased on her site, she used Marc Jacobs' Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation ($55; sephora.com). Since the finish is pretty intense, this probably won't be part of your everyday routine, but it's a great method to try for a night out—or if you're in the mood to take a thousand new selfies.
