On Wednesday, Clarkson kicked off a love fest between the pair (and a possible collab) on Twitter when she gushed about finally meeting Smith in person.
"I met @samsmithworld & his entire crew of Sam's (and a Jack) today. Super sweet guy!" the songstress tweeted. "Already loved his music, now I'm a fan of his person."
Smith, 25, responded quickly with some kind words of his own. "You are truly wonderful in every way Ms Clarkson. All my love forever and always. Hope to see you soon!!!!!" the British Grammy winner replied.
It could have ended there, but Clarkson, who was apparently still seeing stars, took their budding friendship up a notch. "We should probably sing together at some point if we're ever in the same neighborhood again," she tweeted back. "Just sayin'. Love your new song!"
Unfortunately, it might be a while before the pop powerhouses find themselves in a recording studio together, seeing as how they both have plenty on their plates right now. Clarkson just dropped "Love So Soft," off of her new album Meaning of Life, while Smith released his latest single, "Too Good at Goodbyes," last week.
But that's OK, we'll wait.
