While Kate Middleton is widely lauded for her keen sense of fashion and glossy brown hair, sitting pretty isn't the only thing the Duchess knows how to do. In fact, Middleton used to be a regular athlete, playing field hockey and running cross country in school and even training to compete in a charity rowing competition in the early aughts.
Although Middleton long ago gave up her cleats and oars in favor of tiaras and gowns, she still has a natural knack for athleticism, which she put on display today in Scotland. After visiting St. Catherine's Primary School in Edinburgh, the Countess of Strathearn (as she's known there) traded in her green overcoat and pumps for leggings and sneakers to put her tennis skills to the test.
Middleton joined Andy Murray's mother Judy at Craigmount High School in the Scottish city for a tennis workshop. In addition to hitting the ball around with Judy and some of the students, the Duchess also showed off her racket-wielding skills. In a photo posted by Kensington Palace, Middleton is seen twirling her racket in the air before catching it. Hey, the Queen didn't make her the patron of Wimbledon for nothing.
And while we don't usually see Prince George and Princess Charlotte's mom in such laid-back duds, this isn't the first time Middleton has worn leggings. In fact, just last week she donned a pair for a day of shopping at Lululemon in London. We're loving this new(ish) sporty side.
