Fancy meeting you here! Kate Hudson ran into old friend and rock icon Steven Tyler on a flight from Toronto to Los Angeles Wednesday, a run-in which they documented with the cutest selfie—obviously.

Hudson was on her way back to L.A. after the TIFF premiere of her latest film, Deepwater Horizon, when she bumped into the Aerosmith frontman, who also happens to be the father of her close childhood friend and fellow actress Liv Tyler. "We make our own sunshine. Best plane run in ever! Love you Papa Steven," Hudson captioned the photo of them smiling from their seats on the plane.

The mother of two later that day arrived at LAX wearing skinny jeans and white T-shirt with the phrase "I wish you were here" stamped across the chest. A message for her kids or a love back home? Hudson glammed up her ensemble with a brown sunnies, a pair of red pointed-toe pumps, a studded leather purse, and a large snakeskin-patterned tote.
