Updating your lipstick wardrobe for fall? Take some pointers from Kate Bosworth. At a Dior Homme cocktail party last week, the queen of bold lips officially stepped into the dark side.

To create the perfect moody shade, Bosworth’s makeup artist, Pati Dubroff, drew inspiration from one delicious seasonal item (and no, it wasn’t a pumpkin spice latte). “I've been obsessed with pomegranates lately, they are in season here in California and they are the most beautiful shades of red—rich and dark but still very vibrant,” she told InStyle.

After defining the actress's brows, Dubroff swept a taupe eye shadow along her lid and crease, later adding hints of red using Dior’s Dior 5 Couleurs State of Gold Holiday 2015 Eyeshadow Palette in Blazing Gold ($63; dior.com in October). Before moving on to her statement-making pout, the pro applied Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ($29; sephora.com) to the star’s upper lashes.

“Finally, for the lips I mixed two of the new Dior Addict Lipstick shades to mimic the variants on tones in a pomegranate,” she said. “I first applied the darker berry-toned shade Gotha #967 ($35; sephora.com), and then layered the bright red shade Too Much #951 ($35; sephora.com) on top." Gorgeous!
