Karl Lagerfeld's career in fashion has been nothing short of impressive, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. With that in mind, it only seems fitting that the famed designer—who has spent decades at the helm of brands like Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, and his own namesake label—is set to be honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the British Fashion Awards later this month for his unrivaled contribution to the fashion industry.
"Karl Lagerfeld defines outstanding," chairman of the British Fashion Council, Natalie Massenet, said in a statement. "His life’s work for his own, and so many extraordinary brands, has written the language of fashion. He is the ultimate visionary and we celebrate not only the decades already passed, but those yet to happen. In Karl’s hands the future of fashion will be an exceptional one."
And the designer is in great company—previous recipients of the award include Manolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, and more.
The British Fashion Awards will take place at the London Coliseum on Nov. 23.
